A brief Pause to say Yahoo!!!

We want to take a brief moment to say how excited were are for Hanna and the choice she made to be baptized this last Sunday August 26, 2010. She will be confirmed a member of the church and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost this fast Sunday. Yahoo!!!!

We love you Hanna and are so proud of you!

Portland and Powells Books!

Day 2 of our coastal trip!

Ok so our next stop was Portland and Powell's books! As you can see from the picture it is huge!! They gave us a map when we walked in and you would have totally gotten lost without it! We spent about 2 hours here and all the kids got to get a book to read for the duration of the trip. It was a great place to find books, but boy was it crowded!

Before we made it to Portland and Powell's we stopped at Little Stone Henge along the way, cant remember the name of the town.... Anyways it was pretty cool. It was VERY hot outside so we didn't hang here for to long.

This was the view from Stone Henge and it was clear enough to see Mount Hood!

Jason got a really cool shot of the windmills that were literally everywhere! I love looking at these windmills! Funny enough every time we have driven through the gorge it has been super windy and this time it was just to hot.

We stopped off at the Multanomah falls right before we got into Portland, it was very busy and there was even a wedding taking place. Its such a beautiful waterfall and it helped cool us off for a little while.

This was the next morning after we got to the coast and our campsite, because we spent so much time at Powell's Books we missed the tours for the Tillamook cheese factory.. Bummer! But the kids were ok with it when they saw the ocean for the first time that night. Jason was kind enough to set up camp while I walked the kids down to the water.

As you can see they forgot all about cheese!

We woke up early the next morning and packed up our tents but stayed to hang out on the beach for a while. The tide was out and we were able to see alot of the sea life (more of those pics later). Lizzie jumped into mine and Jason's picture at the last minute but left when she saw us kiss! Ha Ha!

We love the ocean and brings back memories of our marriage, 17 years and we still like each other! :)

Oregon trip Day 1

Day one of our trip to the coast was great! We left as early as we could and drove toward Boise. We stopped in Twin Falls to see the Shoshone Falls which is considered the "Little Niagara" of the west. Along the way we saw some wildlife as seen above, I could not get him to turn around....

That night we camped just into Oregon close to the Idaho border. The camp ground was one that we stayed at before and it was just like we remembered except we didn't have any kids with us the last time Jason and I stayed there during our 5 year anniversary.

Not alot to see this day because we were driving and it was getting dark when we finally got to the campsite. We had fun and were very excited to go on our vacation. Next stop Portland and Powell's books!

Miss Me Much?

Well I am back, sorry I haven't been blogging my computer as been MIA for awhile. Anyways here are some posts for you to enjoy!

Below are some pictures of the tree that fell a few days before we left on our coast trip. We were playing games with The Ellico's who are the best friends ever! Anyways our neighbor knocked on our door and said we might want to come and see what our tree did to our cars.

The Ellico's van was parked right here on the road and lucky for us the tree missed all of our vehicles! The branches landed around the cars and we had a few scratches but nothing major. We have an amazing ward and within minuets the call went out and we had about 8 Elders show up with chain saws and we were able to cut it down and get it all cleared up in about 2 hours.

The weird thing is that the wind wasn't even blowing that much, normally if I am worried about the wind I will tie the trampoline down and I didn't even do that. We were super lucky that it didn't land on the garage or ANY of our cars.

Things Aleah says

The kids got to the $1.00 store for doing all of their chores. It took forever and of course they wanted everything. Aleah was in the candy isle and her head was just spinning with everything she saw. I told her to make her choice because we were leaving in 5 min. This was her response...

"There is so much yumy sweetness, I just cant decide"!!!

We were walking to the library on Monday and the smell of summer was in the air. People were watering their grass and we could see a lawn mower being run. As we walked the kids in from started to slow down and make faces, when I heard one child say wow it stinks. Of course Aleah pipes up and says "Yuck it smells like Zebra Poo". I said "How do u know its Zebra and not a dog or cat"? And she promptly told me that she knew the difference between Zebra poo and dog Poo. Go figure....

Sunday after church our girls needed to clean up a clothes mess in the basement. Leah and Lexi share a room and so Lexi told Aleah that she needed to clean up her clothes and pick up her side of the room. Aleah proceded to hold up her hand and say "Talk to the hand because I have a headache." She got in trouble from her dad but when he had her come and tell me what she did, I had to hide my reaction, because I started to laugh really hard. It wouldnt have been funny if she had done it to me but hearing about it second hand was hilarious.

Sunday morning we woke up and were getting ready for church. I was doing the girls hair in the bathroom and Aleah walks in. She was standing by the door with her Sunday dress on and Said "Mom look my bum us dancing"! I said I cant see it. So she preceeds to lift up her dress and show me that she is clenching and unclenching her bum. I laughed and told her to go show her dad. She came into our bedroom and showed him what she showed me and then told him that "no one else knows how to do this".

We went to the store and Aleah raced to touch the van first. Then she touched the car next to ours and said she "Won" cause she touched both cars first. I told her that we cant touch other peoples cars becuase sometimes they might have an alarm on them. She said "oh, then we will go to jail". This sparked a conversation about jail and what u are allowed to do there. Here is the list.....
1. No eating
2. No drinking and if u do its from the toilet.
3. Only Sleeping is allowed
4. No talking
5. Clothes are only black and white
6. No going outside
7. No TV

I dont think she will touch other peoples cars again.

So we went to see Narnia the other day and on the way home the girls were commenting on how hot it was in the car. Then commenting on how hot it was outside. Anni said "Oh man I am sweating!" Aleah said " am not sure if I am hot, let me check" She put her hand in her armpit and said "Yup its wet, so I must be hot too!

We are driving on the freeway at like 75 MPH and Aleah says this to me... "Mom when I say duck u have stop so that we can look at them."
I said I cant I am going way to fast. And she said "Well U could if u wanted to."

Today in the car Aleah told me that she was going to die soon. I asked how she knew this and she told me that she sometimes has trouble "breezing" and so she would die if she couldnt fix it. I said u mean breathing? And she said yea mom that is what I said wernt u listening? (on a side note she always asks me when she is gonna die and I always tell her never)

I told Aleah Why cant u try and stay on task? She said I dont know mom, I am just a "DoDo" brain. (In our family it is a term of endearment, u know like the bird?). Then she asked me "Mom why did Heavenly Father make me a DoDo brain?"

I was getting ready to change my sweat pants for Jeans and Aleah was in the room. She saw me getting ready to do this and this is what she said:
"Oh I better leave the room" (she walked into the hallway and put her face in the corner)
"Why do u need to leave the room?"
"Because Mom If I see your private its not private any more".
"Ok, who told u this?"
"Anni did"
"Well Anni is sure smart huh?"
"Yup thats why I listen to her".
(On a side note I thought she left the room because Jason pinched my bum and she didnt want to see us doing that)

"Wait mom the awnser is in my brain I just have to find it".

Today Aleah was all about magic. She was doing the coin trick only she was doing it with this piece of fuzzy string. She did it to me and the string disapeared and magically apeared from inside my ear. She was so excited to do it for Jason that she had to show him when we picked him up for work. He was sitting in the passenger side and I was driving. Aleah was sitting right behind him in the van. So he watched her move the string from hand to hand and then it disapeared! We were impressed, he asked her where did it go? She said "Um, Dad give me your head". He said " I can't give u my head". She said then I can't show u what happened to the string. When we got out she pretented that it was in his ear.

An overheard conversation between Aleah and Lexi...

I am not sure what Aleah was doing but she dropped something and said "Oh hairy pickles!"
Lexi heard her say this and said "Aleah thats bad we dont say that."
I said "Lexi why is that a bad word?"
She said in a face that was beet red.... "Mom that is what boys have."
I laughed and said where did u hear that? She said "from the kids at school, that is what they call it."
I said "oh, well ok.....then lets not say that anymore and stop listening to kids at school."
